THE INEXHAUSTIBLE VOID OF DELIGHT.
I waited for you in the voids of God’s golden mornings. Storms swallowing storms. The tempests are ceaseless. I fall into remnants again. Blackbirds warble their ballads in the shadowed meadows. Forests of unexploded bombs blooming their buried fires. Madonna of the landmines, I escaped Heaven’s searing emptiness. Surviving Paradise is a garden of ash. Desire, what a miraculous blade! Madonna of the Maelstroms, I witnessed a devastation of stars draining into darkness. Propane flames from the mouths of shrieking night trains on their black tracks. I wrestled with the wolves in varicose streets. The richness! of these ruins! Desire that dark basilisk is staked to the Earth. Lost in the honeycomb of hours, I hold requiem for the unspeakable centuries. Still I seek some saint to save me. I witnessed blood moons born in cloud gossamer—their star-crossed entrails seeping red in the nightskies. I waited for you in the voids of God’s golden mornings, where I made my home.
THE INEXHAUSTIBLE VOID OF DELIGHT
THE INEXHAUSTIBLE VOID OF DESIRE
Madonna bridegroom of the world in mortal coils
I waited in eventides of the silent universe
Madonna mistress born in a cloister of thorns
Have grace for those fallen into flesh
Madonna of the world devouring ouroboros
I witnessed your sublime majesty
It was like a breath of life to me
Madonna the dark Herald of Hollywood’s silver hills
Eviscerated by solipsism and desire
I witnessed your expanding wilderness
shards of Ancestor stars on the roadsides
sphinxes sunken beneath the LA’s midnight highways
Ghost towns in blue hour suburbs where the mockingbirds sing
opium addicts in the lotus lands, pulverized by desires
Laudanum in the blacklight labyrinths
California coyotes stalking in the wastes of Stygian starlight
Blinking satellites in their interstellar straits waiting for the end of days
The emptiness! Of evergreen paradise!
Sybil of the stars, I witnessed your empires felled by desire
The violence! of desire!
Yes I drowned in a numinous fire
World of the wolf moon, vodka is burning like starlight in my throat
I pressed my palms against the breathing universe
This strangling of Being beneath the autopsy of sun
The decadence! of disaster! I am riven by desire again
Eve eats pomegranates in midsummer midnights
Drowning in ambrosia oh I amassed beautiful damages like the ageless stars
Beyond the threshold of black lacquered cities, I vanished into desire’s wild territories
Mortality—we are the afterimages of the deities
Vestige Elysium, I beheld your divine lineages
I want to disappear into the vanishing points of God
Into Heaven’s gauze of blue
My life slips from my fragile fingertips!
abiding fire in my skin from evening reveries! and the night lifts!
I witnessed a volcanic sunrise with its curtains of burning light
Madonna in the metropolis of mortar and smoke
Madonna of chiaroscuro horizons lit by western wildfires
Madonna in the nocturnal factories of luminous moons
DREAMLAND IN THE RHIZOME GALAXIES
YES I WITNESSED YOUR SUBLIME MAJESTIES
