The miracles are incessant
We were creatures of the dandelion Earth
stranded skyward like stars ineluctable and far
there were Revelations razing the arms of Mount Sinai
THE EATING DECADENCE
even the mountains were wounded
it was mute purgatory
in debauched Dawn’s red peaks I was dreaming
all the meadows were pavement
Midsummer thunder was a shrine of black tides
marauding darkness
artifact of all that I wanted
the heartbreak!
moth husks it was half ash half hushed light
we bore wounds from sunrises pulsing
like the punctured murmurs of dreams
A hidden thing I was forever on the run
entropy I sought the grandeur of God that I had forgotten
soundless snowfield of Oblivion
I was sinking with the missile moons
To Lot’s wife even pillars of salt seemed epiphanies of starlight
burning oasis I was taken
by the radiance of delight
Oh god the darkness
I must once again
leave everything behind
wingless flight it was Desire like a cemetery
and I had a destiny for vanishing
