Auto-da-fé

Daybreak I was taken by reveries. Desire burned its anguish in me. Beloved you were devout in the dayspring while I was drinking dregs of Lethe. Even the chained slaves are singing. Tears trembling from suicide eyes by evening. Devour me desire I am driven by your exhilarating violence. I suffered to survive by burning sunrise, the stars acquire new fertile fires, and I died again for desire. Exile of Genesis, relish in the disobedience of delight, oh I fear I died before living this life. The graves starve for fresh meat, let me sleep in sublime silence at your feet. Desire engraved me with its brutal language of being. In the cradle of a clamoring beast, and I fear I commanded it to feast. Rapture in your arms, desire, I screamed! Sharpen your teeth on my skin, desire, I screamed! but the scream lived inside of me! —How deeply I fear I do not want anything. I surrendered to my greeds, desire opened a vein in me, and I pretended it was need, the yoked! the yoked! my throat at the end of a rope, again, the desired end.

Do not ever think that I did not cherish you. I remember every obliterating servitude. I abolished myself for you.
