Swan Song

I don’t think you knew who I was back then. I don’t think I knew who I was. Daughter of the wandering stars and how long I wandered as the gods absconded.

Graveyard of swans, a ravenous Earth yawns to swallow me. Desire, that dark ravine, even the gods bow at your knees. I live by the promising whisper of your wings. The decadence! of the days I wasted! Trial by fire, I walked in the wilderness of desire. I’m a voyager going nowhere on star-crossed roads. Consort of Lot imprisoned in the pillars of briny sunrise, yes I walked in the wilderness of desire. Intoxicated by the wine-dark seas—this life, liquor of the gods, courses through my polluted body. Our lives and their vanities at the guillotine of Time, I witnessed the infinite. Beacons from the warning angels: dark Carthage is in ashes, gluttonous locusts gorging on my throat. Like the trancing interstellar seas, that vast darkness of want absorbs me. Desire on my mind, the divine architect of annihilation. Navigating night highways, in the debris of my life, I witnessed the infinite. Sweet Lethe, sweet Lethe, how I dream of forgetting.A sacrament of daggers at the skin by brimstone evening. The stars are thrashing in black bestiaries. Bare me beneath the bloodletting moon. Bright messiah, revive me, desire. From animation to annihilation, my life at the guillotine of Time.Entwined in your fingertips while the universe drifts, I witnessed the infinite.Peering into your sorcerer eyes, I witnessed the infinite. Primordial rebellion, yearning. Vestige of the void. Entwined in your fingertips while the universe drifts, I witnessed the infinite. Skyward, the damned angels return to the empyrean. Savage heaven—I’m back at your bedside again. How I envy the winged. Only the fleshless ascend. Therefore, I welcome the end. Summer suns burning such beautiful creatures. Sunrise crushes my lungs. The vanities! In the creeping rivers of Time. How I miss my night mind. When the universe shrinks before my eyes. In the temple of desire, I worship the infinite. Witness the sleeping seas. The silence spreads over this life as if preserved in resin. Then everything begins again. I would choose crucifixion in the coming morning over losing you. I’m a corpse by the golden noon. Awakening in your arms— a graveyard of swans— desire burned such destruction in me.
